Hi Folks, readers and all the others who are still interested
I know, I didn’t write anything for a long time, but be honest, who wants to read about somebody fighting with german bureaucracy? Because anything else didn’t happen here the last few months..
But what is the status? here are a few facts:
- I will arrive in Germany on 10.10.
- I don’t know yet if I will arrive with my family
- because the visa is not granted yet
- but I have to leave because my visa expires
- the dog will stay here because the EU has a list of countries which are trusted from where animals can be imported, and the Philippines - of course - are not on there. That means that the blood of the dog has to be sent to a laboratory in either Japan, Australia or Korea.. go figure
- I will have my B-Day party in Germany, details follow
- I miss the Philippines already
- I miss my family and friends as well, no question
- I will visit people with no advance note
- If I didn’t visit you until October 17th, please msg me

A little question to those who know about importing a pet to Germany, our dog to be specific. Our Visa ist not here yet, but it might be here any day. Facts please, or directions where I can get facts

Ihr erinnert euch ja, vor 2 Wochen hat ja Mai am Goetheinstitut ihre Deutschprüfung abgelegt, weil das ist ja jetzt Gesetz wenn man nach Deutschland will.. Und heute hat sie das ergebniss bekommen..
You remember, 2 weeks ago Mai did her German exam at the Goetheinstitute, because thats law now if you want to go to Germany.. And today she got the results back…

Unser Ehefähigkeitszeugniss ist gestern angekommen. Also ich meine hier auf den Philippinen mit der Post. Meine Mutter durfte es 1 Woche nach der Abgabe fertig und gültig abholen. Was die da jetzt gepfrüft haben weiss ich nicht, aber ich bezweifle das die das nach Manila geschickt haben. Das es bis jetzt in der Post lag wohl an Allerheiligen und daran das wir hier in der Provinz nur 1x in der Woche Post bekommen Der Grund warum das so schnell ging vermute ich in guter Vorbereitung und freundliches Auftreten beim Standesamt (hab da ja 3x angerufen und mich lange mit den Leuten unterhalten. Ein Dank an dieser Stelle an die Mädels vom Reutlinger Standesamt !)
Nun gehts weiter hier, wir gehen demnächst zum Rathaus und legen den Termin fest
Our Legal capacity for contracting Marriage arrived yesterday. And with arrive I mean here, on the Philippines through mail. My Mom was able to pick it up a week after she filed the application. What they checked on that I don’t know, but I doubt that they sent it to Manila. The reason why it was in the mail for all this time was probably because of All Saints and the fact that we only get mail once a week Why it went so fast now I don’t know; my theory is good preparation and a friendly attitude towards the people at the civil registry (where I called about 3 times and had a nice long chat with the people there. A big thank you goes to the girls at the Civil registry in Reutlingen !)
We’ll continue from here, next is going to the city hall and fixing a date

Herzlich willkommen in der Winterzeit wollte nur darauf hinweisen das die meisten die mit mir konferieren nun 1 Stunde laenger auseinander sind. Dass heisst das der Zeitunterschied Deutschland - Philippinen nun wieder 7 Stunden sind. heisst auch das ihr mich nun 1 Stunde weniger online habt (was auch immer das heisst)

Mai hat gestern Ihre erste Deutschstunde gehabt, und es hat ihr soweit Spass gemacht. Die Lehrerin ist selber Philippina und hat 8 Jahre in Deutschland gelebt und dort auch Deutsch studiert, sprich sie kann aus eigener Erfahrung zeigen wie man Deutsch lernt. Danach haben wir dann gleich noch ein Übungsheft und ein Wörterbuch gekauft, zum täglich üben.
Wer es noch nicht weiss, der Deutsche Staat verlangt nun für alle Aufenthaltsgenehmigungen ausser dem Touristenvisum Deutschkenntnisse, und zwar am besten so weit das man die erste Prüfungsstufe Deutsch am Göthe-institut ablegen kann (und sollte).
Desweiteren haben unsere Dokumente ihre Reise durch den Deutschen Staatsapparat angetreten. Wir hoffen das wir sie bald zurückbekommen.
Yesterday Mai had her first german lesson, and she had fun so far. The Teacher is herself a Filipina and lived and studied for 8 Years in Germany. That means she knows the hurdles on how to learn german. After the lessons we bought a Dictionary and a Workbook for her daily studies.
For those who didn’t know, the Republic of Germany requires now for anything beyond a tourist visa that you speak german at least at the level of the first certification offered by the Göthe institute.
In other news, our documents began their travel through the german bureaucratic machinery. We hope that we get them back soon.

Da waren wir ja auf der Deutschen Botschaft in Manila, um einen Antrag auf ein ‘Ehefähigkeitszeugniss’ zu stellen, was wie sich heraustellte nicht geht, oder doch irgendwie?
We have been to the German Embassy in Manila, to apply for an ‘Certificate of Capability for Marriage’, what, as we learned, is not possible, or is it?
