Mai hat gestern Ihre erste Deutschstunde gehabt, und es hat ihr soweit Spass gemacht. Die Lehrerin ist selber Philippina und hat 8 Jahre in Deutschland gelebt und dort auch Deutsch studiert, sprich sie kann aus eigener Erfahrung zeigen wie man Deutsch lernt. Danach haben wir dann gleich noch ein Übungsheft und ein Wörterbuch gekauft, zum täglich üben.
Wer es noch nicht weiss, der Deutsche Staat verlangt nun für alle Aufenthaltsgenehmigungen ausser dem Touristenvisum Deutschkenntnisse, und zwar am besten so weit das man die erste Prüfungsstufe Deutsch am Göthe-institut ablegen kann (und sollte).
Desweiteren haben unsere Dokumente ihre Reise durch den Deutschen Staatsapparat angetreten. Wir hoffen das wir sie bald zurückbekommen.
Yesterday Mai had her first german lesson, and she had fun so far. The Teacher is herself a Filipina and lived and studied for 8 Years in Germany. That means she knows the hurdles on how to learn german. After the lessons we bought a Dictionary and a Workbook for her daily studies.
For those who didn’t know, the Republic of Germany requires now for anything beyond a tourist visa that you speak german at least at the level of the first certification offered by the Göthe institute.
In other news, our documents began their travel through the german bureaucratic machinery. We hope that we get them back soon.

Heute ist mein 34. Geburtstag, der 3. Geburtstag in Folge den ich auf den Philippinen feiere und der 4. an welchem ich nicht in Deutschland bin. Ich danke allen die gratulierten oder versucht haben zu gratulieren (wir hatten heut Stromausfall) oder noch gratulieren (weil sie hier erinnert wurden)
Today is my 34th Birthday, the third Birthday on the Philippines in a row and the fourth on which I am not in Germany. I thank all of you who congratulated, who tried to congratulate (we had a black out earlier) or who still will congratulate (because they read it here)

Ansonnsten war unser Aufenthalt in Manila recht geruhsam. Ich hab entdeckt das ich es nicht wirklich vermisse, sieht man von wenigen annehmlichkeiten ab, die wir nach 2 1/2 Tagen dann auch durchhatten:
Besides that our visit to Manila was rather quite. I discovered that I don’t really miss it, besides a few amenities, which we had done after the 2 1/2 days:

Da waren wir ja auf der Deutschen Botschaft in Manila, um einen Antrag auf ein ‘Ehefähigkeitszeugniss’ zu stellen, was wie sich heraustellte nicht geht, oder doch irgendwie?
We have been to the German Embassy in Manila, to apply for an ‘Certificate of Capability for Marriage’, what, as we learned, is not possible, or is it?

Den kommenden Dienstag fliegen wir nach Manila für 3 Tage damit ich endlich mal wieder Burger essen kann… Das war natürlich ein Scherz. Wir müssen auf die Deutsche Botschaft um dort den Antrag auf mein Ehefähigkeitszeugniss zu stellen (was ich vor einem deutschen Beamten machen muss), wo wir Mai’s übersetzte Dokumente gleich mit abliefern und dafür zahlen müssen das die Deutsche Botschaft diese dann überprüft. Das kann dann 4-6 Monate dauern. Danach bekomm ich dann mein EFZ, welches ich dann hier wieder in Manila in eine Heiratslizens umtauschen kann was dann er Filipinische Standesbeamte dann auch akzeptiert… Aber bei Burgerking schau ich trotzdem mal vorbei..
Next tuesday we are going to fly to Manila for 3 days so I can have hamburgers… Of course, that was a joke. We have to go to the German Embassy to fill out my application for a German Marriage License (which i have to do in front of a german official). The same time we submit Mai’s translated documents and have to pay the embassy to authorize them. This can take 4-6 months. After that I get my german marriage license which I then have to exchange into an english marriage license again at the embassy. With that I can finally marry Mai in front of a Philippine Mayor…. But I will visit Burgerking as well..

Ich hatte ja erwähnt das wir eine Hütte auf unserem Grundstück zu einem kleinen Haus ausgebaut haben. Ich dachte ich zeig mal n paar bilder davon, den hier wohnen wir jetzt..
