Mein Sohnemann hatte ja am 17. Dezember Geburtstag, und da haben wir uns entschlossen am 24. mit einer kleinen Party zu feiern. Nun beinhaltet eine kleine Party auf den Philippinen ungefähr folgendes: 50+ Gäste (Kinder mitgerechnet), ein Lechon Baboy (Spanferkel), Geburtstagstorte, Geschenke für die kleinen Gäste, 3 fritierte Hünchen, 2 kleine Gelbschwanztuhnfische süss-sauer (jeder etwa 25cm), gebackene Muscheln, etwa 2 Kg Spagetthi mit Tomatensauce (wir haben normale Tomatensauce verwendet, nicht die papp-süsse die man sonnst hier hat… übrig war trotzdem nix), Fruchtpunsch, gebackene Kartoffeln (ich glaub das war für mich gedacht) und noch ein paar andere Gerichte die mir gar nicht mehr einfallen, und unmengen Reis natürlich… Weiter unten gibts ein paar Impressionen 
My son had his Birthday on December 17th, and we decided to have a small party on the 24th for that. Now, a small party on the Philippines looks a bit like this: 50 or more guests (counting the kids), a Lechon Baboy (grilled piglet), Birthdaycake, gifts for the little guests, 3 fried chicken, 2 small yellow-fin-tuna (each about 12 inches) in sweet and sour sauce, backed mussels, about 4 pound of Spagetti in Tomato-sauce (we used real Tomato-sauce, not the too-sweet kind they usually use, but nothing was left anyway), Fruitpunch, backed potatoes (I guess those were for me), and other dishes I don’t remember now and of course lots of rice, of course… Down there are some impressions Read the rest of this entry »

Heute haben wir endlich alle Dokumente beim lokalen Standesamt abgeben können. Mein Deutsches/Internationales EFZ haben Sie direkt genommen, nach der Argumentation das was auch immer die Botschaft produziert das selbe draufsteht, da meine Version ja Deutsche, Englische und Französische Beschriftungen hatte.
Vorher mussten wir noch ein Seminar zur Familienplanung mitmachen, das Zertifikat von da mussten wir mit abgeben. Wir haben nicht wirklich mitgemacht, Mai hat erklärt das es mit der Planung nun doch 6 Jahre zu spät ist bei ihr 
Nun wird unsere ‘Aufgebotsbestellung’ 10 Tage öffentlich Ausgehängt, danach dürfen wir zum Pfarrer oder Bürgermeister (was bei uns der Fall sein wird) und einen Termin vereinbaren. Wir peilen mittlerweile den 18. Januar an, aber wissen tun wir’s erst am 2. oder 3. Januar.
Zum Glück ist der Bürgermeister der Onkel einer Freundin von Mai, die nehmen wir mit zum Termin ausmachen
Today we’ve finally submitted all our Documents to the local Civil Registry. My German/International Legal Capacity to contract marriage has been accepted as it is, after arguing that a translation from the Embassy would contain no other informations as there are all labels in german, english and french on there.
But before that we had to attend a Seminar for Family planning, for which we got a certificate we had to submit as well. We didn’t really attend, Mai argued that in her case it is 6 years to late for planning
Now the banns will be put up for 10 days, after that we can go to the priest or mayor (mayor in our case) to arrange a date. We plan for January 18th, but we’ll know it January 2nd or 3rd.
Lucky us, the mayor is the uncle of a friend of Mai. She will come with us when we put down the date

Ich fass es nicht was ich an innovation in deutschland verpasse..

Mai und ich überlegen schon lange rum was wir gegen unsere nicht-purzelnden Pfunde tun sollen, und nach langem hin und her haben wir uns entschlossen uns im Fitness-studio anzumelden und einen Trainer zu angagieren vor allem aus dem Grund damit wir uns nicht selbst verletzen.
Das Fitness-studio am Platz ist klein aber fein, ein Familienbetrieb mit viel Herzlichkeit. Der Spass kostet einmalig pro Person 500 Peso (€8) für die Mitgliedschaft, 300 Peso (€5) per Monat und nochmal 300 Peso (€5) für den Trainer für 2 Wochen. Jetzt mal schauen ob wir die Pfunde nicht unter kontrolle bekommen
Mai and me had been thinking for quite a while what we could do against our non-declining weight. After long discussion we decided to join a Gym and to hire a Trainer basically for the reason so we wont hurt ourselves.
The local Gym is small but neat, a family business with a lot of atmosphere. It costs per person 500 peso ($10) for the membership, 300 Peso ($7) per month and 300 Peso ($7) for the Trainer for two weeks. Now we’re gonna see if that weight is still not declining

Unser Ehefähigkeitszeugniss ist gestern angekommen. Also ich meine hier auf den Philippinen mit der Post. Meine Mutter durfte es 1 Woche nach der Abgabe fertig und gültig abholen. Was die da jetzt gepfrüft haben weiss ich nicht, aber ich bezweifle das die das nach Manila geschickt haben. Das es bis jetzt in der Post lag wohl an Allerheiligen und daran das wir hier in der Provinz nur 1x in der Woche Post bekommen Der Grund warum das so schnell ging vermute ich in guter Vorbereitung und freundliches Auftreten beim Standesamt (hab da ja 3x angerufen und mich lange mit den Leuten unterhalten. Ein Dank an dieser Stelle an die Mädels vom Reutlinger Standesamt !)
Nun gehts weiter hier, wir gehen demnächst zum Rathaus und legen den Termin fest
Our Legal capacity for contracting Marriage arrived yesterday. And with arrive I mean here, on the Philippines through mail. My Mom was able to pick it up a week after she filed the application. What they checked on that I don’t know, but I doubt that they sent it to Manila. The reason why it was in the mail for all this time was probably because of All Saints and the fact that we only get mail once a week Why it went so fast now I don’t know; my theory is good preparation and a friendly attitude towards the people at the civil registry (where I called about 3 times and had a nice long chat with the people there. A big thank you goes to the girls at the Civil registry in Reutlingen !)
We’ll continue from here, next is going to the city hall and fixing a date

Letzten Montag waren ja Wahlen hier auf den Philippinen, und zwar Regional-wahlen, unter anderem eben auch die zum Barangay-Captain. Unser Barangay-captain ist ein Onkel von Mai, und hier rechts im Bild zu sehen. Er wurde wiedergewählt und hat heute dafür mal eben das ganze Viertel zum Mittagessen am Strand eingeladen.
Last Monday have been elections here in the Philippines, regional elections to be specific. Among other positions the Barangay captain has been elected. Our Barangay captain is an uncle of Mai, and you can see him in the picture to the right. He was re-elected and had invited the whole neighbourhood today for lunch at the beach, to celebrate his re-election.

Herzlich willkommen in der Winterzeit wollte nur darauf hinweisen das die meisten die mit mir konferieren nun 1 Stunde laenger auseinander sind. Dass heisst das der Zeitunterschied Deutschland - Philippinen nun wieder 7 Stunden sind. heisst auch das ihr mich nun 1 Stunde weniger online habt (was auch immer das heisst)
